Mr. Haresh B. Parekh did his Diploma in Weaving from SASMIRA in the year 1977. After the completion of studies he joined Hindustan Spinning and Weaving Mills and there after served in reputed textile houses like Mafatlal Group of Industries, Standard Group and Orkay Silk Mills.

Mr. Parekh then joined Emvee Synthetics in Umbergaon and was designated as Factory Manager for 11 years. He was overall incharge for Factory Management, planning of Sulzer Weaving machines and took the initiatives to achieve zero-defect production. He also worked as a Factory Manager (Furnishing & Upholstery House) in Jaq-Cad Tex Fab (India) Pvt. Ltd. and is presently doing the consultancy in sizing process.

Mr. Parekh is the active member of The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit since 1983. He was the Jt. Hon. Gen. Secretary of TAI, Central Office from 2007 to July 2014. Then he was Hon. Gen. Secretary of TAI, Central Office during July 2014 to 2021.

He also took keen interest in encouraging educational activities in the Association. Mr. Parekh as a Committee Member took active interest in organizing many conferences / seminars with the key intention of keeping the textile professionals update with the various developments in the technological field. Mr. Parekh was the Exhibition Convenor of the first historic exhibition organized by The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit in October 2013 at VIA Ground, Vapi (Gujarat). This exhibition was a great success in the history of TAI.

Mr. Parekh has presented the paper on “The Process of Warping and Sizing of Continuous Viscose Filament Yarn” in the One Day Seminar on “Sizing the Key Stone for Quality Fabrics” held on 14^th June 1996 in Mumbai.

He was conferred with Service Memento in the year 2006 during the 62nd All India Textile Conference organized by TAI at Chandigarh and was conferred with Service Gold Medal in the year 2017 during 73rd All India Conference held at Nagpur by The Textile Association (India) for his enormous contribution to the field of Textiles.

Mr. Haresh Parekh received “SASMIRA Star Alumni Award” by SASMIRA, Mumbai in April 2014. Also he was conferred with the “Bharat Jyoti Award” by India International Friendship Society.
